The atmosphere is loud and boisterous with two levels of seating and an outdoor patio. The menu features regular bar fare but with twists like local [amazon_textlink asin=’B06ZZZ1KVJ’ text=’Buffalo craft beer’ template=’ProductLink’ store=’theyums-20′ marketplace=’US’ link_id=’f5f76e28-5ee3-11e7-93ce-3dae4136a98a’] in the barbeque sauce and General Mills “Wheaties” crumbs coating the onion rings.

Location:  7 Scott Street, Buffalo, New York

Named for the Buffalo area code, this sports bar is an attraction in itself with a 38-foot tall wall of screens at the main bar, TV monitors in every booth and on every wall (70+ total in the entire restaurant including the restroom). No matter what sport or team you are rooting for you’ll never have to wonder what the score is or miss a goal.

One feature that I loved was the bar top. Made of glass, it’s frosted and lit to look like its ice – complete with skate grooves.

Menu:  What to Eat?

Buffalo Wings – When in Buffalo, one must eat Buffalo wings, and at (716) Food and Sport, the wings are tender and meaty – not dry and shrivelled like you get at other sports bars – and served with a choice of sauces. If you like [amazon_textlink asin=’B01NAK1UH9′ text=’barbeque potato chips’ template=’ProductLink’ store=’theyums-20′ marketplace=’US’ link_id=’40df9bb4-5ee4-11e7-af8e-0595ead27e78′], try the dry rubbed wings for a change of pace. The wings come with carrot and celery sticks, and ranch dressing for dipping. (8 wings for $11.99, 16 wings for $19.99)

Roast Beef on Weck – Another Buffalo favorite is the Beef on Weck Sandwich – slow roasted, sliced, roast beef with au jus, topped with crispy onions, and [amazon_textlink asin=’B007I6D1ZK’ text=’horseradish cheddar’ template=’ProductLink’ store=’theyums-20′ marketplace=’US’ link_id=’652446de-5ee4-11e7-9660-93835252a999′] all piled on top of a salted pretzel Kimmelweck bun. Served with a pickle on the side and house-made potato chips. It’s a great meaty messy meal! ($12.99)

Homerun Combo – Looking to share? Check out the Homerun Combo that includes Chicken Wings, [amazon_textlink asin=’B003VZF2X6′ text=’Wheaties’ template=’ProductLink’ store=’theyums-20′ marketplace=’US’ link_id=’7d566dfa-5ee4-11e7-a371-a308a15ea4f6′]-Breaded Onion Rings, Beef on Weck Eggrolls, and Buffalo Bites. My favourite here is the onion rings since they are dusted in the aforementioned “Wheaties” crumbs courtesy of the local cereal factory in town. ($17.99)

What to Drink?

It’s a sports bar so I’d go for a beer! At (716) Food and Sports, there is an extensive craft beer menu with 40 different beers, 20 on tap as well as specialty drinks and cocktails.

Whether you come pre or post game for a beer and wings at the bar or you come for a full meal, (716) Food and Sport is sure to be a fun time – anytime!

Cheers! Go, Team!
