Sea Watch on the Ocean, Fort Lauderdale by the Sea

Tucked away off the beaten path north of Fort Lauderdale, is a small beach village – Fort Lauderdale by the Sea. Occupying a mere 1.5 square miles, it is home to Sea Watch on the Ocean, a spectacular upscale restaurant that has stunning views and spectacular sunsets.

Location: 6200 North Ocean Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Menu: Sea Watch is open for lunch and dinner and offers a nice selection of salads, seafood, pasta, and steaks. The dishes are creatively prepared, and they offer a nice selection of wines by the glass and by the bottle.

Thoughts: We have eaten at Sea Watch several times, and each time we leave we cannot wait to come back. They offer enough variation that we have been able to try many of their dishes. Each is perfectly prepared and tasty, with the perfect balance of flavors.

Each of the tables offers a commanding view of the grounds and the ocean. We time our visits so that we can enjoy the breathtaking sunsets that can be seen from anywhere in the restaurant. During peak season, November to May, I suggest that you call for reservations.

Our favorite dishes:

  • Calamari with basil aioli and soy ginger lime cilantro sauces
  • Tuna Avocado Tartare
  • Bouillabaisse
  • Charred Swordfish
  • Fruit Cobbler
  • Pecan Square
